Professor Eric Jauniaux - FIGO appointment

At the meeting held in Cape Town on Friday 9 October 2009, the new FIGO Executive Board has approved the establishment of the first Education, Training and Capacity Building committee (ETC) and has unanimously approved our founder, Professor Eric Jauniaux as the co-chairman of the Committee.

The FIGO (The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) is a benevolent, non-profit organisation funded through subscriptions received from member societies, grants and the proceeds of its triennial World Congress (www.figo.org).  The mission of FIGO is to promote the well-being of women and to raise the standard of practice in obstetrics and gynecology and at MAF we are looking at a very fruitfull collaboration on numerous projects to increase the distribution of knowledge that will improve maternal health care in developing countries.
