Back to Back Striking Days for MAF

Yesterday marked an incredible step forward for MAF

Yesterday marked an incredible step forward for MAF as our animation on safe delivery, "Neema Delivers a Baby", was shown as part of an open air, public screening of the Netherlands vs. Uruguay World Cup semi final match in Moba, Congo.  The same film will be aired again tonight during the Germany vs. Spain match programme at the Moba Mission in Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The South African World Cup is the biggest ever sporting event to take place in the African continent and although we await actual feedback, due to lack of communication lines in the DRC, the number of viewers is expected to be in the tens of thousands.

Even more exciting  - the whole event has been recorded as part of a film for the Gates Foundation & Sundance Film Festival, who are making a documentary on maternal mortality, covering our very inspirational distribution partner, The Floating Clinic (www.thefloatingclinic.org).

It is our hope that from this coverage, these screenings will also open the door to wider provincial and national viewing in the Congo and the Lake Tanganyika basin as our films have been approved by provincial and national health ministries.

Once the film crew are back in radio link we will update you with the feedback that our film has received.  This feedback will be invaluable in taking Medical Aid Films to its next level of greater impact in the global fight against needless maternal and infant death, so watch this space for more updates on this great strike for MAF and thank you all for your vital support.
