New animation aiding Cameroon caregivers to prevent infection in hospitals

A new animation produced by Medical Aid Films will be part of infection prevention and control measures to help orientate caregivers in Cameroonian hospitals.

In most hospitals in Cameroon, personal care such as feeding and cleaning of some patients is done by caregivers, often family or loved ones. Without effective training and support, caregivers may contaminate themselves, patients and staff in hospitals and unknowingly spread disease. A new animation has been created as part of an orientation package to aid caregivers when it comes to preventing and controlling infections.

Told through the story of Mbah, and his granddaughter and care giver Bih, the animation talks caregivers through cleaning hands, preparing good, and other measures that can protect everyone.

The film was made with partnership with Infection Control African Network, Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the UK Health Security Agency. Animation by AV Studios.
