Medical Aid Films launch multilingual films to encourage COVID-19 vaccine uptake in the UK

Medical Aid Films have produced new films and animations in English, Bengali and Arabic to support doctors to encourage COVID-19 vaccine uptake in the UK. The films focus on the efficacy of the vaccine and encourage underserved communities to speak to their local NHS services if they have any concerns.

Currently only 64.8% of the UK population have been fully vaccinated. With the Omicron variant spreading fast in the past few months, it is more important than ever that everyone is vaccinated and protected against COVID-19.

The films were created to tackle the relative lack of digital content about the COVID-19 vaccine in a wider range of languages spoken in the UK.

The animation, voiced in English by BBC journalist and presenter Clive Myrie, has been translated into Bengali and Arabic. The Bengali version is narrated by Bengali voice over artist Muhammad Golam Rasul and is being championed by Bengali Imam and TV presenter Ajmal Masroor. The Arabic version is voiced by Syrian doctor Reem Assil.

The new films were funded by the British Medical Association, and produced in collaboration with Doctors of the World and Migrant Help
